Tova PerlmutterAffiliationExecutive Director - Sugar Law Center for Economic and Social Justice BiographyI have 20 years of experience in administration, communications, fundraising and public education for nonprofit organizations. I obtained professional certification as a Senior Human Resources Professional while working to promote fair employment practices at a major corporation. I have been responsible for designing and monitoring many projects aimed at empowering people and attracting press coverage to social justice efforts. I have also conducted doctoral research on ethnic and racial politics in American cities. My work for the Sugar Law Center includes building collaborations and partnerships, maximizing the Center's public visibility in order to maximize its impact, managing daily operations, and raising funds. My private consulting practice has served over two dozen nonprofits in SE Michigan, ranging from tiny organizations to the Michigan Nonprofit Association and the ACLU of Michigan.
